Minutes of Meeting
Coppell Historical Society
September 4, 2004
At its regular monthly meeting, the Coppell Historical Society agreed to investigate the status of the Texas State Historical Marker and make a final decision on the marker dedication date at the October meeting. Lindy Thomas will determine the status. A letter will be sent to donators once the decision is made.
David Murph and Jim Dunkley will meet to decide details of the November Sam Houston/
Bird's Fort tour. The tour will follow a portion of the Sam Houston trail. The group discussed
having one event in the fall and one in the spring, to which the public could be invited.
Jean Murph suggested the idea of an economic development committee within the Society to monitor development issues in old downtown Coppell and decisions related to Coppell’s history.
The group voted to create the committee, along with a membership committee. Pete Wilson, Lindy
Thomas and Jean Murph will serve on the economic development committee. Pat Lambert and
Jean Murph will serve on the membership committee.
Pete Wilson and David Murph were appointed to nominate a slate of officers for the coming year, which will be presented at the October meeting.
